FORMATIVE EXPERIENCES
Professional Education and Training:
NRP Training Program
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is a collaborative program by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Heart Association (AHA) that teaches healthcare professionals a standardized, evidence-based approach to resuscitating newborns at birth. It utilizes a blended learning method with online education, simulation, and a focus on teamwork and communication to improve neonatal outcomes by equipping staff with the skills to effectively manage challenging situations during delivery.
The program offers different levels, including Essentials and Advanced, to cater to various roles in newborn care, from basic care to complex, high-risk scenarios. Our services include the required online adaptive learning platform license as requested by the trainee, and support during the process of completion of Part 1 and group practice to achieve successful completion of Part 2. We have recently expanded our services to include the access license for the newly launched Congenital Heart Disease Module and a repository of resources to support compliance with the standards of care at the institutional level.
Our center provides a formative experience guided by an instructor mentor that supports participants from diverse disciplines and professional stages to work collaboratively during practice sessions and high-level simulations and debriefings. Our Community of Practice is further supported by a library of resources to promote competency and broaden their knowledge-base.
